  1. 10. Steampunk genre is only suggestion came from Jason Anderson’s profile on Pinterest. Budget aspect is only suggestion came from sponger, a user from ResetEra. We will probably never know the official production costs for any of Microsoft’s new games.

    9. There is no secret that Obsidian is developing 4 things for now.
    • surely the most people (100+) sit on Avowed and this is the biggest current project.
    • someone is definitely doing a second DLC for The Outer Worlds next door. Since Peril on Gorgon came out almost a year after the release, and it takes about 4-5 hours, and Murder on Eridanos is set to be released in 2021, there are certainly not many people at it. In addition, there is still silence about the optimization for the Xbox Series X|S, about which there was a small mention in the July press release.
    • Certainly 18 people from the Core Team are developing Grounded, and they have outsourcing from two Virtuous studios: Sparx * and Black Shamrock, and QA was additionally joined by Experis (Microsoft’s regular customer) and QLOC.
    • for sure Josh Sawyer has something of his own, and when he talked about it in some conversation, then (May 2020) he had 5 people.

However, it wonders how the things looks with Brandon Adler. Recently, where it was mentioned is Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire as one of the few producers and Pillars of Eternity as Production Lead. Maybe they moved him to Avowed.

Chris Parker is a Chief Development Officer, so he’s more of a studio manager than production developer.

Whether Boyarsky and Cain are picking on the next The Outer Worlds is also unknown. They said before releasing that they had ideas for a sequel. Are they developing something now? Who knows…

    8. We know that XGS Publishing has probably some unannounced AAA in open world. We don’t know what studio could do that for them.

    7. This is not a rumour. That’s confirmed that Cloud gaming (Beta) will come to the new markets and on the new devices in 2021 and beyond. Starting with web app for iOS and Windows 10 support. Also they consider TV app/TV dongle which was said publicly in some interview.

    6. Forza franchise is releasing alternately: Motorsport ⇨ Horizon ⇨ Motorsport ⇨ Horizon, etc. Last game was Horizon 4 in 2018. Even if next Forza will be released in 2021, three years after, it would be in 90% the new Motorsport, not Horizon 5. Especially Motorsport 7 landed in Xbox Game Pass in October. 2021 will be also the last year of availability before End of Life status for this game. This thing also suggests the next Forza Motorsport would be released in 2021 and it will replace FM7 in XGP.

Any source saying that Wolfenstein 3/Starfield supposed to be exclusives to Xbox ecosystem?

    5. Any source for that? We only know that Xbox Game Pass could have more additions and more Perks in the future. We don’t know if it could be Ubisoft+ (this is the current name, not Uplay).

    3. Same like above. Any source for that?

    2. Sounds like bullshit. They just have some partnership with SEGA of America and that’s it. SEGA in Japan even didn’t released Yakuza: Like a Dragon for Xbox physically/at all (I’m not sure).

    1. Any source for that? I only heard from Shpeshal Ed on Xbox Era podcast that they probably are going to buy at least one studio. But I’m not sure if he’s so reliable.

Thoughts?
